Maison & Objet

At Maison&Objet Paris in September 2024 we presented Radical Anthropocene Adhocsism, our vision of what a hotel room can become when we decide to build differently. The installation invited visitors to experiment with another way of thinking, where design grows out of what surrounds us locally, where every object tells a story, and where abundance is measured not in materials but in connections. As the biologist Olivier Hamant has written, the future depends on shifting from a society of performance to one that values robustness, from material abundance to relational abundance, from the emptiness of things to the richness of links. Our proposal challenged the illusion of growth and showed how design can instead create resilience and meaning. The project brought together an extraordinary constellation of creators who each dream in their own way but converge around a shared human solution. It is a collective experiment that transfers directly into hotel projects: a vision that is rich in history, rooted in collaboration, and driven by honesty and poetry. Ateliers, artists, and designers who contributed: Aardig Gedacht, Alexis Mazin, Arnaud Eubelen, Atelier Falaise, Aurélien Veyrat, Bel Albatros, Ben Fury, Bento Architecture, Black Wool, Duplex Studio, Emma Cogne, Eyeveyes, Grond Studio, Joséphine Jadot, Lagadoue, Lionel Jadot, Mathilde Wittock, Mircea Anghel, Omar Griouat, Osama Madadeh, Papier Boulettes, Pierre Coddens, Precious Peel, Roxane Lahidji, Savonnerie Bruxelloise, Sonian Wood, Studio Elementaires, Studio KRJST, Thomas Serruys, Tommy Lhomme, Xavier Servas.
